Penticton has long been known for hosting world-class endurance events, and while Ironman is no longer part of the local calendar, we’re proud to welcome something even more epic in 2025. The Adventure Racing World Championship is coming to Penticton and will showcase the very best of British Columbia’s rugged beauty and adventurous spirit.

This event will see teams from around the globe compete in a 700+ kilometre multi-day race through BC’s mountains, lakes, rivers, and trails. The course is kept secret until the morning of the race, and athletes will navigate using only a map and compass as they trek, mountain bike, paddle, and rappel their way across stunning landscapes. It’s one of the most demanding and inspiring competitions on the planet.

Okanagan Lake Park will be the heartbeat of the event, with the athlete village open to the public for opening and closing ceremonies, live GPS tracking, and community engagement throughout the race. If you’re new to the sport, this is a rare chance to watch it all unfold in your own backyard.
