The Dan Tait Band is a Kelowna, British Columbia–based folk-Americana collective built on a simple belief: The best songs, the best shows help us to understand ourselves, and when we enjoy them together, we better understand each other.

Anchored by the songwriting of Dan Tait, the five-piece combines heartfelt storytelling, soaring three-part harmonies, and dynamic musicianship into performances that move effortlessly from intimate listening moments to full-band foundation-shaking celebrations. Their sound is rooted in folk traditions but stretches comfortable into Americana, country, and roots-rock, creating a show that’s as emotionally engaging as it is musically expansive. Tait’s songwriting is deeply informed by lived experience. Following his own journeys through addiction and into recovery, he has become known for writing songs that meet life’s hardest moments with honesty, compassion, and hope. Rather than dwelling in darkness, his music looks toward healing, community, and the possibilities that come when we begin again. As Dan often says, the goal is to have “a hell of a good time in healing.”

Surrounding those songs is a remarkable group of musicians. Aidan Mayes (keyboards, vocals) brings expressive musicianship and luminous harmonies. Gary Talman’s melodic guitar work shifts effortlessly from subtle restraint and soaring release. Dustin McGifford anchors the band with melodic basslines and rich third-part harmonies, while Rod Anderson’s drumming provides sensitivity and drive. Together, they’re 5 great pals driven to create beautiful moments together.
