Tempest Theatre, in partnership with Discover Naramata, is thrilled to welcome back Charles Ross for a limited three-night run of his acclaimed One Man Pride and Prejudice, October 2 to 4. The run kicks off Naramata Gathers, a new ten-day celebration of wine, food, harvest, and the arts running October 2-12 throughout Naramata Village and along the Naramata Bench.

Charles Ross is best known as the creator and performer of One Man Star Wars and One Man Lord of the Rings, original solo shows that strip beloved epics down to their essentials: no costumes, no sets, no props, just Charles playing every character himself. What started as a bar game in Winnipeg, trading movie lines while tossing a frisbee, grew into a career that’s taken him from the Fringe circuit to a six-month Off-Broadway run at the Lambs Theatre on 42nd Street, an invitation from Lucasfilm itself, London’s West End, the Sydney Opera House, and appearances on Conan O’Brien, Craig Ferguson, Good Morning America, and BBC One. The Times Colonist has called him the “King of the one-man show.”

This time, Charles takes on Jane Austen, playing every role, Darcy included, in a solo homage to the 1995 BBC Pride and Prejudice, full of dancing, singing, and heartbreak.

Opening the night is Gordon White with The House Manager. Gordon spent 18 years as a featured clown with Cirque du Soleil, performing lead roles across four productions worldwide, and CBC has called him “a living cartoon.” This special performance brings him home to Penticton.
