The Socialē Winemakers Series continues with another evening celebrating the incredible wineries of the Okanagan and Similkameen.

We’re thrilled to welcome Black Market Wine Co. back to Socialē for their second appearance in our Winemakers Series!

Join us for four courses, four wines, and one night celebrating this distinctive Kaleden winery. Our culinary team will create a special four-course menu for the evening, with each course thoughtfully paired with a wine from Black Market’s collection of small-batch Okanagan wines.

Whether you joined us for their first dinner or are discovering Black Market for the first time, we look forward to welcoming you for another evening of great food, great wine, and the stories behind both.

About Black Market Wine Co.

Perched in the hills of Kaleden overlooking Skaha Lake, Black Market Wine Co. is a boutique winery built on a shared passion for discovering and creating exceptional wines.

Founded by Rob Hammersley and Michelle Shewchuk, the winery’s story began long before its first vintage. While living in Calgary, the couple frequently travelled to the Okanagan in search of unique, small-production wines they couldn’t find back home. They would return with cases of their favourite discoveries to share with friends and family, eventually earning themselves the nickname “Wine Black Marketeers.” When the time came to establish their own winery, the name was a natural fit.

Today, Black Market Wine Co. continues that spirit of discovery, producing distinctive, handcrafted wines that celebrate the character of the Okanagan Valley. With sustainably farmed vineyards in Kaleden, a focus on small-batch production, and a winemaking philosophy unconstrained by tradition, Rob and Michelle have created a winery that embraces individuality and a genuine passion for the craft.

A Penticton Tradition Since 2007

The Winemakers Series began at Villa Rosa Ristorante in 2007, bringing local wineries and guests together around the table for evenings dedicated to great food, great wine and the people behind both.

Nearly two decades later, that tradition continues at Socialē on Lakeshore — one winery, one specially created menu and one night to experience them together.
